October Newsletter
This month, we take an important step at Semillas!
We celebrate service as the ability to recognize the needs of others and take positive action to contribute to our community. During this time, the children will:
- Identify how their actions can help or affect others
- Take on small classroom responsibilities (organizing, caring for materials, helping a classmate)
- Learn about community roles (firefighters, police officers, doctors, teachers) and their impact
- Develop cooperation, respect, and a willingness to help
At Semillas, we believe service is not an obligation; it is a way of living in community. When a child understands that they can contribute, they begin to develop a sense of purpose and responsibility.
Children discover that they have a role within their community, that their actions matter, and that helping others also strengthens their own sense of identity.

Helping without being asked can make a difference in someone else’s life.
Virtue Goals
Help set the table, pick up dirty clothes in their bedroom, ask how they can help and complete the task, and feed their pet.
